Privacy on Words of Positivity
Words of Positivity has no newsletter, account, registration, profile, comment, or checkout system. The contact form is the one place where you can submit personal information when you ask us to investigate or reply.

Analytics and cookie choices
Plausible counts every visit without cookies. It may receive browser and device information and a referring page.
Google Analytics is run by Google, which receives the page address, the actions we measure on this site and browser and device information, and sets cookies that tell repeat visits apart. Its advertising features are off.
In the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and whenever we cannot tell which country a visit comes from, Google Analytics loads only after you choose Accept on the bar at the bottom of the page. Decline loads nothing from Google. Your choice is kept in this browser for six months, then the bar asks again.
Elsewhere, Google Analytics loads with each page unless you choose Decline. Cloudflare, which delivers our pages, tells your browser which country the visit comes from.
Wherever you are, Cookie choices at the bottom of any page, or the button below, changes your choice. Decline stops Google Analytics on this site in this browser and deletes its analytics cookies. If analytics was running, the page reloads to apply your choice. Decline holds on every page; outside the countries above it is kept until you change it.
No accounts: the contact form is the one exception
The site has no newsletter, user accounts, sign-in, saved profile, subscription, or purchase flow. Its contact form is the exception: category, reply email, short summary, and details are required; name, affected page URL, and supporting source URL are optional.
The site counts actions such as using a filter, copying a word or shortlist, printing a list, or sharing a view. The details sent with those counts never include search text, copied words, selected words, or message contents.
What leaves your browser
Anonymous usage counts go to Plausible Analytics and Google Analytics 4. The site has no affiliate tracking link, third-party sign-in, payment form, or newsletter service.
Printing uses the browser print dialog. Sharing uses the browser or operating system share sheet when available. Words of Positivity does not receive the printer name, share destination, or the contents of a personal message.
On a word page with a recorded pronunciation, pressing Hear it plays the recording from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org). Your browser then asks Wikimedia's servers for the file, which, like any web request, shows them your IP address and browser. Nothing is fetched from Wikimedia until you press the button.
Contact and privacy reports
Contact reports are sent through a Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare Turnstile security check. Turnstile and normal request delivery may process the browser, IP address, request, and security metadata needed to check abuse and deliver the report. The accepted report is then stored and copied to a private operator channel in Discord. The site does not publish the submission or create an account.
An accepted report is kept in our contact inbox at Cloudflare and deleted automatically 12 months after it arrives. It holds the fields you filled in, the site and the time you sent it, but not your IP address. The Discord copy stays until we delete it. Only our team and our own inbox tools read these reports. To stop floods of messages, the Worker counts reports from each network address and each reply address for two hours, keeping a scrambled code of each address rather than the address itself. There is no self-service access or deletion tool.
Use the Privacy or rights request category to ask for a copy of an earlier report or to have it deleted, and include enough information to identify it; we then delete both the inbox copy and the Discord copy. Cloudflare and Discord keep their own operational logs and backups, which we cannot delete. A reply address is used only for follow-up. Do not include passwords, keys, or other secrets.
